OCAC Language Study Program attracts students from 9 countries to learn authentic Chinese and experience Taiwan's cultural diversity

The opening ceremony for the 1st term of the 2019 Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Language Study Program for Expatriate Youth was held at China Youth Corps (CYC) Chientan Youth Activity Center on the afternoon of January 1. The ceremony was attended by Senior Executive Officer of the OCAC Department of Student Affairs Lin Hong-ying and CYC department director Hong Chi-chou. The students this term come from Panama, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, the US, Canada, South Korea and Japan, 53 students in all from nine countries.
This program runs from January 1 to February 4. As well as solid Chinese language teaching, it also has diverse cultural courses and visits to various attractions across Taiwan; the aim is to give participants an in-depth and new understanding of Taiwan and promote interaction and sharing between young people from Taiwan and overseas to promote self-cultivation by the students and allow them to experience Taiwan's diverse custom and conditions.
