The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) 2018 Language Study Program for Compatriot Youth held its opening ceremony at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU, Linkou Campus) on December 20. In attendance were Lu Su-Chen, Deputy Director-General of the OCAC’s Department of Overseas Student Counseling, and Gao Wen-zhong, Dean of NTNU Extension, School of Continuing Education. This term has 72 students from southern hemisphere countries including Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, and Peru.
The Program began on December 19, 2018 and will end on January 15, 2019. As well as giving students a solid Chinese language foundation, the Program also features a variety of interesting cultural courses and field trips across Taiwan to allow students to gain a better understanding of Taiwan and experience its unique cultural beauty formed by the harmonious merging of different ethnic groups.
