2019 OCAC Business Startup Program for Overseas Entrepreneurs

In support of the government’s policy of increasing investment in Taiwan’s industry and to tap the power of young overseas entrepreneurs to promote business opportunity exchange and technical cooperation with outstanding domestic enterprises to drive investment and industrial development, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2019 OCAC Business Startup Program for Overseas Entrepreneurs July 29-August 2.

At the welcome lunch,OCAC Minister Wu Hsin-hsing said that Program participants are  at the starting line of their lives and he hoped that this OCAC activity can help them; he also expressed the hope that they share their thoughts with the OCAC after the event ends so that similar future events can be made even better. He went on to say, if he can choose his job in the future, he would choose to do business because business is extremely challenging and when success is achieved a contribution can be made to country and home area. He believes that a successful business person should not just improve his/her circumstances, he/she should benefit others. Lastly, he exhorted participants to become successful entrepreneurs in future but, while pursuing career and personal development, to not forget social responsibility.

Group Leader Ken Shen thanked for Minister Wu for his policies and thoughts that attach importance to young people and said that he believed participants would learn a lot from the courses and exchange with different exterprises;he also said that they won’t forget Taiwan when they return to their home countries and will do their bit to make Taiwan better.

OCAC Minister Wu welcomed the participants in the Business Startup Program for Overseas Entrepreneurs to Taiwan and expressed the hope that the activity would be of assistance to them.
