Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce Chicago holds the Taste of Taiwan on Water event

Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce Chicago (TJCCC) held the Taste of Taiwan on Water event on June 9. More than 150 people comprising of young entrepreneurs from across North America and overseas community representatives were in attendance. Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago Director General Eric Huang also attended. The venue for the event was a yacht. Amidst a lively atmosphere, the young entrepreneurs enjoyed the architectural beauty of Chicago from the water while enjoying a variety of authentic and exquisite Taiwanese foods.

Eric Huang affirmed the talent and vitality of the members of the TJCCC and its long-term assistance to the government in terms of promoting Taiwan-US economic and trade relations and youth diplomacy and expressed the hope that, in future, the TJCCC can work more closely with the Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office  in Chicago and the Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago. During the event, the handover ceremony for president of the TJCCC was conducted, with Sophia Huang passing the position to Luke Lin. Eric Huang  thanked the team  for supporting and assisting the work of the TJCCC over the last year and said that the organization will continue to recruit and  nurture more young officials  and cooperate further with Taiwanese and US enterprises to promote Taiwanese culture. Luke Lin introduced the new team and said that, in future, the TJCCC will share more business experience through discussion meetings and new media and other means to help young people work and develop their careers in the US; he also expressed the hope that more young people in the Chicago area will join the TJCCC to inject fresh blood and allow its work to continue.

Authentic Taiwanese foods provided by different hotels and restaurants were provided on the day. Taiwanese magician Jimmy was also invited from Taiwan to perform. Everyone enjoyed a Taiwanese feast.

Culture Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago helped members of the TJCCC apply for Overseas Compatriot Cards on site and encouraged stores to become specially engaged stores. The considerate service was praised.
