The Indonesia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (ITCC-JC) held the 4th members’ assembly and sports days at Jakarta Taipei School on May 5. Taipei Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta, Indonesia, Representative John Chen attended specially to cheer on competitors. Using the healthy and full of vitality sports meet form, along with several hundred young entrepreneurs he called on ITCC-JC members and figures in the worldwide overseas community to support Taiwan’s entry into the WHO and participation in the WHA.
On the day, President of Indonesia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce Lai Wei-hsin, Principal of Jakarta Taipei School Chen Kuo-liang, ITCC-JC Chairman Taffy Chang, former ITCC-JC chairmen Richard Tseng, Liu Shih-hau and Chang Chao-hsiung, and others, were in attendance. As well as basketball and volleyball competitions, there were fun games for children, handicraft activities and other activities, ensuring that children and adults alike had a great time.
ITCC-JC also jointly undertook a Book Sharing Program with Taiwan’s eslite Foundation for Culture and Arts, aiming to collect Indonesian books suitable for reading by children and adolescents aged 6-15 years old. The organizers set up a special booth at the venue to collect Indonesian books donated by the overseas community. These were sent to Taiwan after the event where they were distributed to new immigrant children to allow the culture of their mother tongue to be retained.
