In a bid to help overseas entrepreneurs better understand the status of Taiwan's creative innovation industry, while assisting those in the industry with exploring possible global export opportunities, and supporting exchange between the entrepreneurs and industry proprietors, OCAC hosted the 2016 Creative Innovation Industry Workshop for Overseas Entrepreneurs between May 29 and June 3. It was attended by 36 overseas entrepreneurs from 16 countries.
In addition to two themed lectures and guided tours to COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2016, the attendees also toured Inventec Corporation, Advantech Co., Ltd., New Kinpo Group, Spring Pool Glass Industrial Co., Ltd., and visited the Chinese Industrial Designers Association, Nankang Software Park, Nankang Biotech Incubation Center, Incubation Center at ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), and InvesTaiwan Service Center. A symposium for "Finding Your Business Match" was also hosted, allowing attendees to meet-and-greet a number of high-performing innovation startups in Taiwan.
The closing ceremony for the workshop was hosted on June 3, and presided over by OCAC Vice Minister Roy Yuan-Rong Leu, who congratulated the attendees for acquiring a better understanding of the amazing growth of Taiwan's creative and innovation industry. He encouraged attendees to help their Taiwanese counterparts open up overseas markets, and enlisted the support of the overseas entrepreneurs for the government effort to promote Taiwan's five innovative industries, and make the best use of the talent pool here in Taiwan and overseas to leverage Taiwan's innovation strengths.
