In honoring the government's New Southbound Policy and encouraging the development of the "Five Plus Two" innovation industries around the country, the OCAC for the first time ever hosted the 2017 New Agricultural Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs Visiting Group between June 12 and 16, graced by 34 expat Taiwanese entrepreneurs from across the world. The workshop aimed at promoting greater exchange between expat Taiwanese business magnates and forward-thinking agriculturists in Taiwan, matching up and facilitating partnerships on agricultural technologies and ventures and procurement between expat Taiwanese businesses and local agriculturists, and courting interested expat sponsorships for Taiwan's agricultural knowhow and products in hopes of create more opportunities overseas. 
In addition to visits to Agricultural Technology Research Institute, Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park, Taichung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station, and Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) of the Council of Agriculture to get a feel for the development status Taiwan's agricultural technologies, the entrepreneurs also traveled to five of the country's most prominent, specialized agriculture businesses for further exchange. On June 16, the Symposium on International Cooperation on New Agriculture Ventures and General Assembly were held at Ambassador Taipei Hotel. Other than enjoying an in-depth exchange with 13 local businesses, the entrepreneurs also welcomed representatives from Office of Trade Negotiations, Executive Yuan, the Council of Agriculture, Overseas Credit Guarantee Fund (Taiwan), and Agricultural Technology Research Institute. The reps were briefed on expat entrepreneurs' suggestions for new agricultural development services, the New South Bound Policy, and possible assistances available from overseas.
