The closing ceremony of "The 2017 Worships for Leaders/Elites of Overseas Compatriot Chambers of Commerce Term 2" organized by OCAC took place in the afternoon of September 22, with Minister Hsin-hsing Wu presiding over the ceremony. He encouraged trainees to strengthen their love and support for Taiwan, in addition to improving their leadership and professional knowhow.
Wu noted OCAC's wholehearted reception of every trainee, and said that he hoped the courses and itinerary were to everyone's liking, and filled the bill for the overseas Taiwanese communities in bolstering their ventures. Taiwan's economic development is at a crossroads as it prepares for transition; it is more important than ever for diaspora Taiwanese communities to unite their effort in defending the Taiwanese culture and Taiwan's national dignity, be it specific sponsorship or moral support.
In a move to bolster the development of overseas Taiwanese chambers of commerce and the junior chapters of the COC, the OCAC hosted the abovementioned events between September 18 and 23, graced by 61 business leaders and cadre members of the junior chapters from 19 countries throughout the six continents. The program was an enrichment of activities to help trainees understand the trending development of Taiwan's trade, economy, and investment prospects so as to establish an effective channel of liaison. Other than keynote speeches on "The New Southbound Policy," "Five-Plus-Two Innovative Industries," courses addressing risk management, online network management, effective proceedings practice and social etiquette were also featured; furthermore, the program included site visits to notable industries in Taiwan, and meet-and-greets with 21 high-performing businesses.
